train schedules for fall 2012

The schedules will change in June, about the second weekend, and the new schedule will be effective until December. The Bahn will have the new schedule up at least several weeks in advance. On the Bahn website, you can see a schedule for September, but it might change before then. The Bahn will not allow online bookings past the end of the current schedule until the new one is posted. Italian Rail (Trenitalia) probably won't it's schedule until several weeks after it changes. Not sure about others. However, most schedules don't change much from year to year, just a slight tweaking. Occasionally there will be a major change, like a train connection dropped, but not usually.
