Train reservations needed?

At the end of April, we will be traveling between Venice and Florence, Florence to Manarola, and then from Manarola to Pisa with a 1 pm return home. I want to keep things as fluid as possible, but wonder if reservations would be wise for any of these trips. Can anyone offer some advice? Thanks in advance.

Unless it is Easter weekend, you have no need for advance reservations other than to take advantage of discounts. All Italy trains except the Regionals require a reservation but you can get it easily the hour before.
