Will be taking the train from Prague to Vienna in August 2013 as part of a several country trip. Will have train pass already, but wondering if a seat reservation will be needed. How crowded are the "non-stop" morning trains from Prague to Vienna on a weekday? Thanks!
Unfortunately there are no non-stop trains between Prague and Vienna. If you have train pass for first class your likelihood of finding empty seat will be higher. If I go just by myself I take my chances. If there is more of us and want to sit together I buy seats. Also August is a high season and a lot of tourists travel that route. But if you are young, travel alone or just two of you I think you can take your chances. In the worst case scenario go to the restaurant car.
