My wife and I are seniors and looking forward to our exploration of Europe. Has anyone taken a train from Prague to Ljubljana? If so, how did you arrange tickets? It looks like there is a night train. Has anyone taken that? How did you obtain tickets for that? What were the costs? WE would appreciate any suggestions/commens about your experience.

Hi, Gordon. Are you planning on doing a straight shot between the two?
I always like to stop off in Vienna first, and maybe even a night in Salzburg. Opens up quite a few more options for train times, etc.

We have visited both Vienna and Salzburg in past years. Lovely cities both, but not in our plans this time.
We were planning a straight shot Prague to Ljubljana. We are joining a Rick Steves tour in Ljubljana on September 20 and planning to leave Prague either on the 20th (day train) or take an overnight train on the 19th if these are reasonable. Airfares from Prague to Ljubljana are very expensive and the flights are very limited. A night train might provide us transportation and a night's lodging. Have you taken this route before?
