Train or fly? Toulouse to Paris

I need recommendations from seasoned travelers, is there good scenery on the way to Paris via train or should I fly instead?

I've never ridden the train, but driven the corresponding roads often enogh. It's sure as heck not boring except for being on a freeway, looking off a half mile, it's pretty nice. What's the train, five, six hours? City center to city center, flying is going to take you close to four. I'd rather look at anything besides the guts of airports, even at the cost of a couple of hours.

There are several direct trains taking 5 1/2 hours. Others with one connection in several alternative cities add another 30 minutes to an hour. Air France runs many flights (Toulouse is a business city, especially because of Airbus) taking an hour and 20 or 30 minutes into Orly or Charles de Gaulle. Of course there is the extra time for security and for claiming luggage, but the prices appear lower than the train. Sources: www.skyscanner.net

I would go with cheapest option and we would have to know your dates to predict what that might be,, Also, look at Easyjet. There are pros and cons to both, but trains don't exactly go right through picturesque villages ... we took the train from Paris to Nice last summer, 5.5 hours and the only scenery worth it was the last 1.5 hours, the rest was pretty blah.

I'd do anything to avoid airports, particularly Paris. As Ed said, city center to city center is around 4 hours flying. And while not all scenery on train routes is beautiful, it is generally pretty interesting, and it beats the alternative.
