Train or Car (Brittany and Normandy)

I decided to visit the region of Brittany (Carnac, Josselin, Pointe du Raz, Monts d'Arree, Ploumanac'h, Caps d'Erquy-Frehel, Mont-St-Michel) JUNE 4early-7early then head to Normandy June 7mid-morning-9late (my husband, active duty Army is jumping in as part of the 70th anniversary) to see the d-day beaches as well as some of the towns in that region (suggestions welcomed).

I hear the tolls in France for these area are steep. Every time I have traveled in Europe I have always used the trains and local transportation in the towns so driving would be a new thing for me. I fly into CDG at 530am (just in time for morning rush hour)

Questions:
1. The locations I want to see, are they feasable on the train/buses or to remote of locations? I enjoy hiking but would like to keep it below 5k.
2. For a week of driving, what would the average be for tolls in Brittany and Normandy? I do know I can get a 1st class train ticket for all of France-6 days for $300 while it is on sale this month.

I greatly appreciate the feedback.

Driving will be more convenient in these regions. Rick's book estimates 25 euros of tolls if you spend 4 hours on the autoroute. www.viamichelin.com can help you plan driving routes without tolls and gives you the estimated tolls on the faster routes.
