Anyone have any experience getting from Milan airport to lake garda via train or bus. I understand no trains from airport so which train station in milan is recommended and what's quickest (but not terribly expensive) way to get to the station. Are there any airport shuttle buses like there are in the states to get to Garda? Grazie!

Take a train from Milano Malpensa to Milano Centrale and, from there, take a second train to Peschiere del Garda. There are trains every hour or so in this route.

Thanks for the quick reply - is the train from Malpensa that you refer to the Malpensa Express ( approx 11 Euros)?

No. The Malpensa Express stops at Milano Cadorna, a commuter train station, which would add a cramped subway ride to Milano Centrale. You need to take TreNord trains to Milano Centrale. They depart from the same place, cost the same, take as long and look the same as the Malpensa Express but travel through other route.
