Hello Fine RS Friends! Hope you are all doing well! I’m hoping to hear suggestions on how best to take a train around Sat at 11am from the Munich airport to Ljubljana. (Our hotel is close to city center and 3 bridges of Ljubljana) We will not have a car. Thank you in advance for your kind replies & help! 😊
Go here to see your options. Put in "Munich Airport T" to "Ljubljana" and your time and date.

Sam is correct.
But an extra tip, when you do that it will probably offer an 11:44 departure from the airport, with a transfer at Munich Ost, which happens to be much easier to transfer at that the main station in the centre. If you click "details" it will show a 14minute transfer, which is possible but can worry visitors. There is a simple answer, betwen the arrival and departure lines at that station you see a box "Increase transfer time", click on that and select "Earlier arrival at stop". It will recalculate and offer an itinery departing at 11:24 with a longer transfer time - and if you buy the ticket from that step it will put that itinery on the ticket. In reality it doesn't matter because the S8 line connections before the main ICE train are flexible and you can take any that get you to Munich Ost in time to make the connection, but having it shown on the ticket makes it more reassuring. One bonus is that by adding 20 minutes into the transfer it gives you time to stock up with sandwiches and pastries for lunch from one of the bakers in the main concourse and connecting passageways whilst between trains - much better choice and value than on the train, if you have enough spare hands get coffee as well. I like Yorma's.
From reassurance to worry. Please tell me you aren't planning to make the return journey on the same route. The northbound journey holds my award for the most frustrating and badly planned service in Europe!!
