We're taking river cruise in October that ends in Nuremburg. We'd like to take a train to Salzburg and spend a few days. I know the trip is about 3 hours, but I am unable to get any fare information online. Does anyone know the fare (either roundtrip or one way) from Nuremburg to Salzburg? Thanks

Use the German Rail (Bahn) website. Full fare is 65€ per person each way, but you can get advance purchase fares of 49€ each way for two people. If you are willing to take regional trains (4½-5 hrs each way), you can use regional passes (Bayern-Tickets) that are valid on any regional trains for the whole day (after 9 AM workdays) for 26€ for 2 people. BTW, the Bahn website will recognize the spelling Nuremburg for Nürnberg, but will offer "Nuremberg" on a dropdown list. Accept it. The resultant schedule will show the proper spelling, Nürnberg.
