german rail pass to border then what and the same question a few days later traveling to Berlin..point to point, extra country added to pass? Can you pay the fee on the train or is it just solved by making a reservation? This trip requires a reservation?
William, For the trip from Munich to Prague, you can travel either by train or by Bus. Both are an easy trip. If you're travelling with a Railpass, you'll need to buy an extra ticket for the portion from the border to Prague. I'd suggest stopping by the EurAide office in the Munich rail station, as they should be able to help you get all the details sorted. For the trip from Prague to Berlin, it would probably be easiest just to buy a P-P ticket. That's an easy trip (I travelled the reverse direction last year). Before deciding whether or not to add an extra country to the Railpass, it would be a good idea to do some "number crunching" to see how the cost of the extra country compares with the cost of a P-P ticket. I wouldn't suggest travelling without a ticket and "paying a fee on the train", as the fee could be an expensive fine! It would be best to have all that sorted before travelling. Happy travels!
