Train Help - Paris to Bayeux

Hi, I wrote in a few weeks ago to find out how to make train reservations from Paris to Bayeux on May 16. I got some good info on how to do this, researched The Man in Seat 61, and I’m now within 90 days of the trip and trying to purchase the tickets.

On the http://www.voyages-sncf.com site I found a direct route that takes 2 hours and 6 min with Intercities. It won’t let me make the reservations and says that they are “unopened”. I tried to enter my e-mail address to be notified when they are open but it won’t accept it (maybe it knows that I’m in the US?).

On the http://en.voyages-sncf.com/en/train-ticket site there is a route that makes 2 stops and takes 3 hours and 32 min. It will allow me to make these reservations but I’d rather get the direct route if possible.

I also checked the Capitaine train site https://www.capitainetrain.com, it only shows the 3 hour 32 min route. Also, there is only 1 return trip that day at 5:27 p.m. which is too early.

Any idea why I can’t make the reservations for the direct route? Am I doing something wrong? I’d really appreciate some help. Thanks!

@ Donna,

major bummer. I had no issues other than to wait for the proper time.

My recommendations is to check back everyday. When i was there during March, the train wasnt full. I wasnt sure about how full it would be, but i bought in advance anyway.

But keep on checking back

happy trails.
