I have a train ticket from zurich to reutte. The train schedule shows stopping in St. Margrethen at 12:51 platform 2B (Train S2). The schedule shows leaving at 12:54 (Train R5770) but no departure platform is shown. I have tried calling the train station but I only get a recording(not in english). Could someone help me out with the departure platform Thank You
If no departure platform is shown, it probably means that train R5770 is not assigned a particular platform. Since it's only a 3-minute connection, the platform will certainly be close by 2B. Look for the platform assignment on the electronic reader board when you get off the train in St. Margrethen.
The Swiss Rail website shows the arrival and departure boards for St. Margrethen Bahnhof. I only see trains arriving or departing on platforms 1 and 2 (often with a letter indicating the part (end) of the platform. Most trains seem to use 1B or 2B, unless they are long and use A,B, and C, or B, and C. So, I'm guessing that there are only two tracks and probably one platform. It should be a cross platform change. Unless one of the preceeding trains is late, both tracks should be available at 12:54, so your train can use either one and will be the only train in the station.
