Train from zurich, switzerland to tuttlingen, Germany

My wife and I are senior citizens, and we have never traveled to the European continent before. We will be traveling with two large suitcases and backpacks as we are planning a 3 week trip in March. We are planning on renting a car for the whole trip, but if we take a train from zurich airport to tuttlingen for a 5 day trip to stay with friends in tuttlingen, it would greatly reduce the car rental cost. We purchased Rick Steves' Best of Europe 2011 book, but still have numerous questions. I have tried to research the internet for roundtrip train cost from zurich airport to tuttlingen with no success. Does anyone know what the cost is, or how I can find out, or are there any trains that go there?

On the Deutche Bahn website, I'm seeing the cost ranging from €25 to €35 one way. The duration of the trip ranges from 90 minutes to about two hours and 30 minutes.

Or use the Swiss rail site, www.rail.ch. There are direct trains from the main Zurich station to Tuttlingen, 1 hour 22 minutes. From the airport to the main station is another 12 minutes or so. The train station is right in the airport. Make sure you buy tickets before you board. You cannot buynthem on board. Many trains between the airport and downtown and " Selbstkontrolle" and there is a huge fine if you don't have a ticket. The fare in Swiss francs is 35 CHF, but you may find a special offer priice of 24 CHF on the website. (That is from the main station.)

The German Rail (Bahn) website shows three ICs in the morning and more in the evening that make that trip direct in 1h22m. The same connection is every two hours during mid-day, but without the advance purchase fare. With advance purchase on the website, the fare is as low as €19/p, but only from the main station to Tuttlingen, not from the airport. If you use the Bahn website, it recognizes the proper spelling of Zürich (or Zuerich) for the main station, but not Zurich. Zurich gets you the airport.
