Train from Venice to Cinque Terre

I will be traveling by train from Venice to Cinque terre. Does anyone have any suggestions. Is it better to fly than the train?

Train travel from Venice to Cinque Terre will go via Florence or Milan. There used to be one more direct (but not much faster) train via Bologna and Parma, but it no longer appears on the schedules. I went via Florence a couple of years ago and that worked well.

Thank you. Seems like its an easy trsin ride....venice to pisa change trains to montegrosso. Trip about 5.5 hours
