I cant seem to find a train that will get me into Naples from Rome before 8:00 AM, any suggestions? There is a tour i would like to take but it starts at 8:30 and the earliest train arrives at 8:27, i am afraid that there might be a delay or it might take me more than 3 minutes to get out of the train station and to the pick up point across the street.

The Trenitalia site shows two earlier options on weekdays. Leave Roma Termini at 04:52, connect at Formia-Gaeta, and arrive at Napoli Centrale at 07:52. Leave Roma Termini at 05:41 and arrive at Napoli Centrale at 08:20. On Saturdays and Sundays your earliest option is to depart at 05:41.

Isn't there a later tour? Or how about spending the night in Naples? Even 10 minutes may not be enough to alight the train and walk to the pick up point if there is a slight delay.
