Two questions. What station should I leave Paris from (I think the Frankfurst station I want is next to the Frankfurt Airport)? What site would I use to look at tickets (Bahn.de won't qive me prices)?
Question 1: Gare de l'Est.
"Bahn.de won't qive me prices" Really? I found prices on the German Rail (Bahn) website. I used "Paris" to "Frankfurt(M) Flughafen Fernbf", tomorrow at 9:00. First connection was 9:10 from Est; full fare was €114. Change the date to next Friday and you'll see a discount Europa-Spezial fare of €69/p. Change the date to Apr and you'll see fares as low as €39/p. Flughafen is the German word for airport; the Fernbahnhof is the long distance train station, one of two stations at the airport. Only connections without train changes in France will show fares.
Thank you both. I must have had an error with my stations. I used "Paris" and "Frankfurt" this time. Looks like the ICE train goes from Est to Frankfurt Main HBF. My friends live in Kelsterbach and I know there is a big train station 5 mins away. Cost for next week with 3 adult fares and 1 child was E207.
Frankfurt Hbf is the main station in Frankfurt; it's not at the airport. Use "frankfurt(M)flughafen fernbf" for the airport. Kelsterbach is close to the airport. If you do end up going to the Hbf, you can take the S-Bahn all the way to Kelsterbach (it's the next station after the airport Regionalbahnhof. It will take 15 min; fare is €4,10 adult, €2,45 child. From the main tracks in Frankfurt Hbf, you'll have to go down into the underground (tief) station. Follow the green circle-S signs. There are other stations underground, but they are all U-Bahn (blue circle-U).
If you book Paris-Kelsterbach on the Geman Rail site, you won't have to pay extra for the S-Bahn from Frankfurt hbf to Kelsterbach.
