I want to take a train from Paris to Florence or Venice. I would like to get a cabin or room and do an overnight train without a bunch of train changes. Any ideas? I can't seem to find any except with 2 or three changes in the middle of the night
The direct overnight train from Paris to Italy stops at Milan (6:00), Verona (8:00), Venice (9:30), and a few other towns in between. To get to Florence, you have to make one connection at any of those stations, preferably a later station in order to sleep longer. Or just visit Venice first and travel by direct train to Florence on a different day.
How to Look Up Train Schedules and Routes Online gives you the DB train schedule link and tips for using it. Schedules should be published through this fall.
As I recall, Easyjet can get you from Paris to Venice in about an hour and a half for around $100, so why take the train at all?
I've taken a day train which had only one change at Milan between Paris and Venice. Leaving Gare de Lyon around 8 am I arrived in Venice in the afternoon.
thank you all for your ideas
I'm only good on a train for about 3 hours, and Paris to Florence is farther than you expect. I agree about taking EasyJet, but pack light as only 1 carryon is allowed.
