In the guide book it says it costs 12.50 one way to travel but on the rail europe site tickets cost 40.00 plus one way. Where do I go to reserve tickets for 12.50? Or do you just have to show up at the station to book? If so, where do I go to get the departure and arrival times for the trip?
You can check out schedules at http://www.voyages-sncf.com/leisure/fr/launch/home It's the French national railways website. Unfortunately, recent changes mean it's only in French. You can purchase tickets over this site too, or you can just get tickets at any railway station a few days before the trip, since it's just a regional train...no reservations needed. There are several trains a day...basically one per hour. It shows one-way tickets at 12.90 Euro, or about $19 US. RailEurope sells tickets at a premium, and doesn't show all runs between a particular city pair.
Thanks so much for the quick reply. I knew there had to be a different site!
And just buy the tickets at the station when you're ready to go. No need to reserve.
