Train from Paris to Brussels to Ghent

Hi all,
I booked a train from Paris to Brussels midi and then transfer to Ghent, our final destination. When I printed out the ticket it only had Brussels as the final destination. I received a confirmation email that said the fare included a transfer to any Belgium station. Am I safe in assuming that I can use the ticket to board a local train to Ghent? If so, I assume there is no reservation, just first come first serve.

Thanks!

It sounds like you have purchase an any Belgian Station ticket, so "ABS" should appear somewhere on the ticket. You can use that ticket for your trip to Ghent. Any departure, no reservation is necessary.

Only the Paris-Brussels portion is reserved. You show the same ticket when onboard any local train (such as IC or IR) to Ghent within 24 hours or your Brussels arrival, and those don't need reservations. (ABS tickets are not good for any further connection on Thalys, but that's rarely going to get in your way.)
