Susan - Travel time to Bayeux is about 2 hrs. If you book early enough fares are as little as 15.00 €. You can use www.tgv-europe.com to purchase your tickets. For Ticket collection country specify Great Britian otherwise you'll be transfered to RailEurope and their ticket prices are much higher. Also Lee & Tim are very knowledgeable on train travel in Europe.

For the sake of clarity, if you book tickets on tgv-europe.com, choose Great Britain as your country of residence. Since you don't live in Great Britain, you don't want to have your tickets mailed there. If you get a Prems fare, you can print the ticket yourself. Or you can choose to pick up your ticket at any SNCF station or boutique in France. The standard 2nd class fare is €35.10. The best Prems fare is €15.00. Book ASAP (up to three months allowed) because the allotted number of discount fare seats sell out quickly.
