Train from Murren to Paris

What is the best route from Murren to Paris by train? Are there any night trains? We are looking to travel to Paris around June 22nd-23rd. We plan on purchasing Global Eurail passes at this time. Thanks.

Head over to the Swiss Rail site to check schedules:

Your quickest connection would be from Interlaken to Basel. From Basel to Paris-Est on the TGV high-speed train. Journey time from Murren is about 6.5 hours.

Joe,

This is the method I'd use for that route.....

Train departing Interlaken Ost at 08:01, arriving Paris Est at 13:34 (time 5H:33M, one change in Basel, reservations compulsory for the TGV portion from Basel to Paris).

At the start of your journey, you'll need to get from Murren to Interlaken Ost by reversing the journey I described in my reply to your other Thread.

When you arrive at Paris Est, you can use the Metro to easily reach whichever part of Paris your Hotel is located.

One important point to note regarding Railpasses, is that these DO NOT include the reservation fees that are compulsory on some trains (usually the fast trains such as the TGV). Do NOT be caught on trains without a valid reservation where this is required (especially in Italy) as you'll be fined on the spot and it's NOT cheap!

You may want to download the free PDF Rail Guide from this website. Click the "Railpasses" tab at the top, and then look in the lower right corner.

Happy travels!
