We will be staying one night in Monte Carlo and need to get to Pisa the next day. I know it is going to be a full day of train travel, but I cannot figure out the best (most convenient) way to get there by train via the tgv-europe.com website. We will be travelling on July 5th. I know there are trains from Nice to Genoa, then Genoa to Pisa, but for some reason the website says there are no trains available....I am probably doing something wrong. Can anyone help? Thanks!
Thank you Frank! You solved the problem! It looks like I cannot search that far out (although it is only two months away). When I put in dates for June, I can easily plan the trip. Thanks!!
First, use bahn.de for scheduling info. It is an easy site to use. Second, did you try within the last few hours. The summer schedule trenitalia was just posted in the 24 hours or so. And it is still possible that you are too far out. So use the same day of the week in mid June as your July dates and see what you get. If all of that fails, come back.
There are some exceptions but 60 days is about the limit for buying tickets in advance. Remember, you have been trained by the American airline system which wants your money a year in advance.
