Train from Mittenwald to Innsbruck

I am planning a trip from Munich, I would like to visit Mittenwald and then move on to Innsbruck. Has anyone take the train from Mittenwald to Innsbruck. Also, any experience in visiting the Ludwig castles from Munich by public transportation? Thanks

In 2009, I took the train from Mittenwald to Seefeld, part way to Innsbruck. The same train was going on to Innsbruck, but I just wanted to see Seefeld. It's easy to get to Ludwig's castle from Munich using public transportation. Read how here.
