We are traveling from Venice to Tirano to catch the Bernina Express..we are able to find mini fares from Venice to Milan but can't complete the transaction due to banking system errors but will keep trying..we need to catch the 10:20 out of Milan to Tirano but can't find it on the Trenitalia site but can on the sbb.ch site..but don't want to buy it on the sbb site because of shipping..is there another option?

Hi Vikki--- try the website www.fsitaliane.it. It shows the train to Tirano and the price,with a purchase button. This is apparently the updated Trenitalia site. You can get to it using the "Home FS" link in the upper left corner of the Trenitalia site. Remember that you can only purchase tickets for regional trains a wee or less ahead. You could also buy nit in Italy at any station. But you should checkmthat website; I'm sure it will be comforting to know that the train really exists!

Thanks for the information...I did try the site and did see the train and its comforting to actually see it on the site and that we can not buy it until we get there...we now our tickets to Venice from Rome and Milan from Venice (all mini's) so progress is being made..next is to buy the Fall Swiss Pass and book our reservations for the Bernina Express..again thanks so much for all of your help
