everyone says look at www.trenitalia.com for train schedules at the top they say to click "English" - I can Find NO English ! We are trying to get from MXP (Milan Airport) to Santa Margherita Ligure - by train. This does not seem to be an easy task. Please help !
Look for the picture of the British flag in the upper right corner, and click on it. Use "Malpensa Aeroporto" as your departure station, and Santa Margherita Ligure as your destination. I just picked a day and time later this week, and there are plenty of options. Looks like a 3-4 hour trip.
The British flag is often the symbol for the English version. On your left just under the Trenitalita symbol. The Spanish flag is there also. Kind of tiny and easy to overlook. If just checking schedules/times the bahn.de site may be a little easier to use but you cannot buy tickets for Italy there.
Go to trenitalia.com and click on the symbol that looks like this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Flag_of_the_United_Kingdom.svg
Thank you all so very much ! Now I need you to set up my two week train itinerary ! this is kind of frustrating and we don't want to rent a car.
Thanks again - very much. Dianne in Chicago
Hi Dianne. There is a learning curve to dealing with Trenitalia, so I feel your frustration. If you haven't already done so, you might want to check out Ron in Rome's sight that lays out in detail--including pictures--on all things train-related in Italy (as well as lots of other helpful Italian travel tips.
