Hi there, I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the train from Latour de Carol to Barcelona. I looked on DB for timetables but it's suggesting 3 changes, I'm guessing that means you can't book it online, or that it no longer runs. Anyone got any information? If it's still running, how would I go about booking it? Thanks! Nila
DB, like all the online journey planners, doesn't seem to show the direct train that you are talking about. It is shown in my Thomas Cook European Rail Timetable for summer 2013 (so that means it is still running) and on line you can find the timetable by going to this page: http://www.renfe.com/EN/viajeros/cercanias/barcelona/index.html In the drop-down menu for the departure point it will be listed as La Tor de Querol-Enveig. There are 5 direct trains to Barcelona Sants per day, but they take nearly 3 hours. Reservations or online ticket purchases are not possible as far as I can see. I did find the ticket price, which seems to be €11.20.
Thanks so much, I did a little digging myself and I found the following: timetable: http://www20.gencat.cat/docs/rodalies/PDF/Horari%20R3%20Tren%20Blanc.pdf info on the r3 line: http://www20.gencat.cat/portal/site/rodalies/menuitem.b638815e53e7323fcfd97c10b0c0e1a0/?vgnextoid=3b965c3674002310VgnVCM2000009b0c1e0aRCRD&vgnextchannel=3b965c3674002310VgnVCM2000009b0c1e0aRCRD&contentid=3edfb8f042762310VgnVCM1000008d0c1e0aRCRD&tipologia=Rodalies&linia=r3 info on the scenic route through latour de carol:

The Latour de Carol - Barcelona line isn't included in bahn.de as, despite the long distance, it's officially part of the Barcelona suburban railway system. It's a spectacular trip, I did it myself a few years ago.
