Hello,
Do you know what is the easiest & fastest way to reach Interlaken to Paris? I would like to start early morning and reach Paris as early as possible.
Thanks
Head over to the Swiss Rail site for schedules:
www.sbb.ch/en
The first train of the day is at 6am with one change in Basel. You arrive at Paris-Est at 11:34am.
Thanks!!!
Easy to do. Trains depart almost hourly in the morning for Bern or Basel where you transfer to a French TGV to Paris. Usually one train change. Trip takes 5.5-6.0hrs. There is a train leaving Interlaken Ost at 6:01am (Interlaken West at 6:06am). One train change in Basel and you're in Paris for lunch. One caution however. The TGV departs 7 minutes after your first train arrives. The Swiss are really good at this. You can see this run and others on www.sbb.ch - the Swiss train website.
no advance reesrvation is required for this. right?
For the TGV leg of the journey from Basel to Paris, you will need advance reservations.
On TGVs the seat reservation is included in the price of the ticket. So long as there are seats available, you can buy a ticket up until shortly before departure. However, with your short connection time in Basel you'll need to buy your TGV ticket in Interlaken.
What if you have a global eurorail pass? Do you just buy the reservation in Interlaken?
Yes, buy your seat reservation in Interlaken.
