looking for advice on the best (most scenic, interesting) way to travel by train from Innsbruck to Strasbourg, allowing 2-3 days. Options seem to be via Munich, or through Switzerland. We don't mind if it's not the quickest or most efficient route, we're looking for the most interesting route. Any suggestions appreciated. We will probably be usig a Eurail Select pass

For schedules, use the German Rail website, http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en. Put in Innsbruck to Strasbourg. Seems like a lot of routes go through Zurich, a lot go across the north side of Bodensee via Friedrichshafen. All seem to go through Basel. For my money, I'd go via Lindau, Friedrichshafen, Singen, Basel.
