Hello all, I was wondering how long it took on a train from Frankfurt to Paris. Also, if anyone had any advice on this matter. Thanks,
Kathy
Direct ICEs make the trip from Frankfurt Hbf to Pars Est in just under four hours. The standard 2nd class fare is €119.00. If you book well in advance (up to 92 days allowed) on bahn.de, you can get a Europa-Spezial Frankreich fare as low as €39.00. That ticket will be for a specific departure date and time and is non-exchangeable and non-refundable. Be sure you can commit before booking.
Actually, these tickets are non-refundable, non-exchangeable as of the first day of validity (usually the first day of travel on that ticket). Up to that date, they can be returned or exchanged for a 15€ surcharge. Of course, to exchange, you would have to pay the difference between the current price and what you paid (basically refund plus buy a new ticket at the going price). Obviously, if you are arriving at FRA that day and want to go immediately to Paris, you could not exchange the ticket for a later train if your flight was late.
Kathy's signature says she is in Frankfurt already. Kathy, you could go down to the Reisezentrum at the station and get all your answers there. They are very helpful.
