Train from Frankfurt Hbf to Rüdesheim

I search fm DB website and found that we can go to Rüdesheim(Rhein) from Frankfurt(Main)Hbf by VIA trains. However, it indicated that the tickets could not be purchased online. So where can I buy the tickets? Must through travel agents at the station?

Just buy them from the ticket machines at the station. This is a commuter rail line, and it has frequent service.

What Tom said. You can see ticket options and prices by using the journey planner on http://www.rmv.de/ . I used the translate feature in my Chrome web browser, and it worked fine, showing me that single tickets are €11 but you can get a day ticket for €21.50 or a group day ticket for up to 5 people for €31.80.

The RMV website switches into English, so you don't have to use a translator. There is a train every hour that goes to Rüdesheim, and leaves from either track 23 or track 24. Nice little new train. Depending on how many people are going, you might also want to get a Hessen ticket, that would cover up to 5 of you, all day long, if all the farther you were going is Ruedesheim. I think they are 32 € now. The ticket machines are very easy to use and switch into English. If you are buying an RMV ticket, you will need cash. If you are buying a Hessen Ticket, you can use the DB side of the machine and use a credit card.

You can get details on the Frankfurt regional transport at http://www.rmv.de/en/ I see one way for a single person would be 11 euro. If you were going back same day, a day ticket would be 21.50 euro. The day ticket is good for up to 5 people traveling together for 32 euro.
