TRAIN FROM FRANKFURT AIRPORT TO PARIS

Does the Frankfurt Airport train station have trains directly to Paris?

No, if you mean you don't have to change trains.

I see a lot of connections with one change of trains in Mannheim or Karlsruhe.

Check the Deutsche Bahn website but use Frankfurt Main (Hauptbahnhof) as your starting point. I saw two non-stops from there to Paris Est (East)on ICE at 6 am and 12 noon during the week and three on a Saturday.

There are plenty of trains from the airport station to Frankfurt Main about one every half-hour.

Good Luck.

There are a few direct trains from the Frankfurt Hbf, but then, coming from the airport, you will have to change at the Hbf, so you might as well take a train from the "Frankfurt(M)Flughafen Fernbf" to Paris with a change in Mannheim. The Fernbahnhof (long distant station) is one of two stations at the airport, on the other side of the building across the access road from Terminal 1.

If you don't already have your plane tickets, you might want to look into flying open-jaw. I will be and found I saved over taking the train from Frankfurt to Paris. I am flying to Paris and home from Frankfurt. (If you do have tickets, disregard and proceed- yes, you want to go straight from the train station at the airport, as Lee says.)

Thanks for your help... I'm returning a car to the Frankfurt Airport then wanting to take train to Paris. Looks like I will have to get to Frankfurt Main Station from the airport then do direct train to Paris...

Je vous remercie

Cathy,

De rien.

Since you will have to make one connection in either case (airport-Mannheim-Paris or airport-Frankfurt-Paris), do what Lee suggested and go airport-Mannheim-Paris. It will be faster than going into Frankfurt.

To get a Savings fare as low as €39, book ASAP (up to 92 days allowed) on the German Rail site.

Traveling within a few weeks... so 92 days doesn't apply.

For some reason the German Rail (Bahn) does not give me prices it states "fares not available"... Does anyone know the difference between Economy 2nd class and Flexible 2nd class on trains? Can you purchase food and alcoholic beverages if you go Flexible 2nd class?

What is your travel date? No fares will be shown beyond 92 days in advance.

Anyone can purchase food, regardless of the type of ticket.

I think Economy 2nd class and Flexible 2nd class are RailEurope terms. Flexible is what the Bahn calls Standard fare, usable on any train for a month. Economy is a train specific fare, lower (but not as low as a Sparpreis fare) and non-exchangeable, non-refundable.
If you are traveling in a few weeks, you will probably find that all of the low priced discount fares are already taken. For what date are you looking? "Fares not available" usually appears for any online purchases more than 92 days in advance or for discount fares less than 3 days in advance.

As for changing at Frankfurt Hbf vs Mannheim, the change in Mannheim is usually only a couple of platforms over. If you take the S-Bahn (the most frequent trains) to Frankfurt Hbf, you will probably go through the underground (tief) station and have to come up several levels to get to the main level to catch the train to Paris.

Did you enter Frankfurt(M) Flughafen as your departure station? I checked an arbitrary date the last week in June and found that some departure times still had Savings fares available for trains with a single connection in either Karlsruhe or Mannheim. Those departure times were 07:54, 08:54, 11:54, 12:54, and 16:54.

Again, what is your departure date?
