Train from Florence-Pisa-Rome in 1 day

Is it doable to take the train from Florence to Pisa, see the Leaning Tower, then hop on the train to Rome all in one day? How far is the Leaning Tower from the Pisa train station? Where can we store our luggage while in Pisa? Thank you!

To go from Pisa to Roma the best way is to connect with a high-speed train in... Firenze. Therefore, you could leave your luggage at Firenze station, head to Pisa (regional train, no reservation required), come back, take the luggage and head to Roma in a ticket resered well in advance online. Pisa has 2 stations. Pisa Centrale is about 20-25min walking to the Campi dei Miracoli, where you cand find the Torre Pendente and other attractions. There is a smaller station, Pisa San Rossore, located 5min from the place, but not all trains call at it.

Thank you for your reply. I noticed that the trains in the Rail Europe website from Pisa to Rome via Florence have tight connections (ranging from 8 to 18 minutes). I am a bit concerned that it might not be enough time to get off the train from Pisa, get our luggage then hop on the train to Rome. I noticed that there are some direct Pisa-Rome trains but are there services at the Pisa train station for storing luggage? Thank you for your help.
