train from cdg to rennes

Do you really need a reservation for the tvg from paris/cdg to renne/brittany during the middle of June? We are 4 adults, traveling together, and are worried if our plane is not on time that we will not make our train reservation time os 10 a.m. Do you really need a reservation or can you pick-up train ticket the same day?

Seat reservations are required on TGVs and are included in the price of the ticket. So long as seats are still available, you can buy tickets until just before departure. You should be okay buying your tickets when you get to CDG, but you might not all be able to sit together. To get seats together you could book full fare tickets now. If your plane is late, you can exchange those tickets for a later train at no charge.

If you want to get a Prem's discount fare (non-exchangeable and non-refundable), you'll need to book online ASAP and you'll need to build in an ample connection time. 2 1/2 - 3 hours would be safe. What time are you scheduled to arrive at CDG?

The standard fare is €63.50. The best Prem's fare is €22. Prem's are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. Unless you're willing to risk having to throw them away because your plane is late and you miss the 10:00 train, book standard fare tickets. Go to www.tgv-europe.com. To keep the site in English and to prevent being bumped to the Rail Europe site, choose Great Britain as both your country of residence and the country in which you will retrieve your tickets. If you book Prem's tickets, you print them yourself. You may pick up any other kind of ticket at the station at CDG--even though you originally chose Great Britain. Enter Airport CDG 2 TGV as your departure point.
