Train from CDG to Chateau-Thierry

Is there a convenient train from CDG to Chateau-Thierry? We will be meeting some friends next May in C-T and will be taking the train from CGD. This will be on a Sunday, if that makes a difference to the train schedules. I've been trying to search online but all the runs seem to have several transfers. And of course, I can only see schedules out a couple of months, not all the way to May.

Thanks.

Chateau Thierry is on a regional train that leaves from Gare de l’Est in Paris. I would go into Paris to catch this train rather than trying to put something together by train that departs from CDG without going to Gare de L’Est. . You can find current schedules at sncf-connect.com. Odds are that the schedule will not be too different in May. You can also put in your travel date and request an email when the schedule is published.

I visited Chateau-Thierry once. That was in the summer of 1999, took the RER train from Gare de l'Est. to do this day trip. It's a direct shot from Paris. I went to the Tourist Office first as it was not far.

There is no need to go through Paris, even on a Sunday. There are hourly buses to Meaux from CDG T1 / Roissypole RER station - accessed from any terminal with the free CDGVAL shuttle. Line number 20.
Then, you can take the train from Meaux to Château Thierry. Sometimes there are engineering works on weekends and the line is closed, but if that happens, your friends could pick you up in Meaux if they have a car - it's not that far. Or there will be replacement buses.

It will be significantly cheaper than going through Paris, too.
