Train from CDG airport to Austerlitz train station in Paris

Is there a train from CDG airport that takes you directly to the Austerlitz train station in Paris? Is this the best way to go or is a taxi better? Thanks, Suzanne

There is no direct train. Take the RER B from CDG to Gare du Nord. Transfer to metro line 5 and take it to Gare d'Austerlitz. The fare is €9.25. It's easy if you're packing light. For a guide to getting into Paris, including photos, see the Paris by
Train site.

Another possibility is to take the Air France bus to Gare de Lyon (Line 4) and walk from Gare de Lyon across the Seine (just across Pont Charles de Gaulle) to Gare d'Austerlitz. It's not very far, 700 meters or half a mile, but is only advisable if your luggage goes on your back, I would not do it with suitcases. Check Google Maps or similar. I have done it with a backpack a couple of times, and then, it's actually easier and more relaxing than the RER, as there are no changes and no stairs involved (and you get to see a little of Paris).
