Hello! Just two questions> We will be taking the Eurostar from London to Brussels then on to Bruges. Do we need to make a reservation for the intercity train to Bruges, or just board the train when we arrive?
and...our train from London arrives at 14:05 and the next train for Bruges leaves at 14:26 (only 20 minutes between trains)..anyone know if that is just not enough time to make that connection? Thanks so much!
There are no reservations on Belgian IC trains. 20 minutes is more than enough time. Even if you miss that train, you will likely not have to wait more than a half hour for the next one.
When you purchase your chunnel train tickets at http://www.eurostar.com, you have the option of choosing "Any Belgian Station" as your destination. This will entitle you to use your chunnel train tickets on the train from Brussels to Bruges.
Just don't use the expression "chunnel" in Europe because it either won't be understood or people may "elect" to not understand. Your connection may be a little tight because there will be a long train full of folk trying to get down the same escalators as you before you split off for the escalators up to your new platform.
All good information...thank you so much!
