Train from Bern to Venice

I've tried using the Google advanced search, and the SBB website, but I can't quite figure this one out - if I have a SwissPass, and want to take the train from Bern to Venice, does my SwissPass help me at all with that journey? Do I need to just buy point to point for that?

Also, has anyone taken that trip? I see the shortest travel times are 6.5 to 8 hours; is that station to station, including all changes? I'm just not 100% clear on that part.

Thanks!

The Swiss Pass will cover your journey from Bern to the Swiss Border, after the border you have to pay for that portion of the journey out of your pocket. When you purchase your ticket in Switzerland just explain it to the clerk and they will sort it out for you. Travel times listed on the SBB website include the changes.

Looking on the Swiss train website, it is interesting to see that many of the train runs take you back to Zurich and then onto Lugano. This run can take 8.0hrs. You want the 6.5hr. run that goes via Brig. All runs go to Milan. Some runs require a train change there; some don't. You can see these runs on www.bahn.de or the Swiss train website www.sbb.ch/en/index.htm.
