Train from Berlin to Gdansk

My husband and I will be traveling to Germany and Poland at the end of October. The trip is Munich to Frankfurt, Frankfurt to Berlin, Berlin to Gdansk, and Gdansk to Warsaw. I think it makes most sense for us to buy a German-Poland rail pass based on the pricing I am getting, but I'm having a hard time figuring out pricing on the leg from Berlin to Gdansk. I can see the schedule, but I can't find anything that gives me the pricing.

Anyone have any idea on the cost for that leg of the journey? Any tips?

Prices are shown on the German DB train schedules, full fare Berlin-Gdansk €65-70, or advance-purchase discounts can be half that price, bookable from 92 days out. How to Look Up Train Schedules and Routes Online gives you the DB train schedule link and tips for using it. With a rail pass, your Polish trains need a seat reservation before boarding, probably €4.50 for Berlin-Gdansk and then free at a Polish station for Gdansk-Warsaw. If you want to keep your travel times flexible on routes with more frequent departures, then the 2-country pass at $235 per person looks like a good value.

Hi,

Going to Gdansk from Berlin you have two route choices: 1. Berlin Hbf to Warsaw, change to Gdansk, 2. Berlin to Angermünde, change to Szczecin, then change to Gdansk. Over ten years ago I took this route (July 2003), nice, interesting, and pleasant, but gives you the feeling you're going to the far end of Europe....all the way to the former West Prussian area in the lower Vistula. If you don't mind long rides, over 9 hrs, it's great to see the landscape. There are a number of small towns around Gdansk and the lower Vistula that survived the war intact since they were bypassed by the Russians.
