Husband and I are thinking of taking trains instead of renting a car for our late August trip to Normandy & environs. Any tips or experiences with this route that you fellow travelers can share? Thanks!

Hi, From Rouen to Amiens you can go directly, avoiding Paris, where you would have to transfer stations as well as trains. The other way is from Rouen to Paris St Lazare station, where you change to go Gare to Nord by taking the Metro. There's also a bus which I've taken but don't recommend that unless you're familiar with the St Lazare station area. At Gare du Nord there's a regional train for Amiens. Only Gare du Nord serves Amiens. I've taken this connection.
