Train from Barcelona airport to Tossa De Mar

Hi, posted this on another site, where only one poster responded, with only a link to the Spanish train system ( sarfa). We would like to go from Barcelona airport to Tossa de Mar on same day( arriving around 2pm) it seems there is no bus on the date we want( july 30th) to Tossa from the airport, there is one to somewhere called Lloret de Mar, but on that site there appears to be no bus from Lloret to Tossa. So, I now assume we will have to take bus into Barcelona( anyone know how long that is?) then take another bus to Tossa.
Now there is the distinct possibility I am interpeting this wrong though,, so any insights appreciated. Also , is there just one main bus station in Barcelona,, does the airport bus take us to the same station that we need to be at to catch next bus to Tossa( comparing to train stations in Paris where you have to go to certain stations to get to certain regions) Thanks

Hi Pat- no train to Tossa. The bus website is barcelonanord.com. They go from Estacio de Nord, in the Eixemple district, to Tossa every 2 hours or so, taking 90 minutes for the journey. The website has maps and directions to the station. A website I found very useful for transport options around Barcelona and the airport is Barcelona-tourist-guide.com. It says to go from the airport to Tossa, you need to travel into Barcelona to Estacio de Nord, there are no direct buses. They suggest taking the Airport Bus to Placa Catalunya, then metro Red Line to station Arc de Triomf ( you're not in Paris anemone, Catalan spelling is different!). Eatacio de Nord is right there. Looks like a nice station with waiting room, etc.

Bus travel in Spain can be confusing because of all the different bus companies. But you can find them pretty easily by Googling " bus from x to y". The websites that pop up will mostly be in English, aimed at UK visitors as well as North Americans. The website will generally have a link to the bus website with schedules, which may be only in Spanish, or not. The barcelonanord.com website, like many in and around Barcelona, is in Catalan, English and Spanish.
