I am trying to find train options (high speed or otherwise) from Assisi to Florence, and not having much luck. Any suggestions?

Hi Manjit. you don't say what web site you are trying; i suggest official site trenitalia.com. there are several direct trains per day, use a date within next 7 days to see complete schedule and fares (11.70 euros). for florence, spell as 'firenze'. however, do not buy these tix in advance, buy when in italy Enjoy your trip!

The train station for Assisi is actually about 5km away (easily accessed by bus or taxi). You may have to change trains to get to Florence. Trenitalia will give you information but use a date about a week from today (you might not be able to use the site today, I understand from another post that it's under construction, probably loading new schedules).

Manjit, The name of the railway station closest to Assisi is Maria degli Angeli. Hope that this helps.
