My husband and I are planning to take a train from Amiens to Brugge the first week of September. I know its too early to request schedules now, so I entered dates for May. I know there is a train from Amiens to Brugge - via a connection in Lille. However, it says that you only have 10 minutes to catch the connection. My questions are: 1) Is that 10 minutes sufficient? 2) If we miss our connection: (a) will they still honor our ticket? and
(b) How long until the next train to Brugge? Many thanks...
1. Yes. Be standing at the door with your luggage when the train pulls into Lille so you can be the first people to get off. 2a. You will be traveling on regional trains from Lille to Brugge. There is open seating, no reservations are possible, and your tickets will be good on any train. 2b. According to the timetables on the German Rail site, trains from Lille Flandres to Brugge depart every hour at 8 minutes past the hour. Some trains are direct and others require a connection in Kortrijk.
Sounds simple enough...guess we'll also just have to ensure that we hustle to our connection...but we could wait an hour if we don't make it. We've been pretty lucky on all our trips so far, but you just never know... Sounds like you've done this before!
Really appreciate the info & quick response.
