I am planning to travel on May 5 and buy my ticket at a local train station in Paris a few days before my travel. My question is, with the ticket I buy on the SNCF would I be able to complete the journey in a certain amount of time or am I required to travel nonstop? I was just wondering if I could stop at a town along the way for a brief walking tour and some food or must I complete the journey once started? I realize I could buy individual tickets but I want to make things easy for myself and remain flexible.
The TGV and ICE trains on that route require reservations. Unless you take slow regional trains you'll need to make separate bookings.
Thank you Tim. I am not concerned enough to take a regoinal slow train I will make my reservation with the TGV/ICE when I get to Paris a few days before I plan on traveling.
