Need advice on time travel and connections to get from Corniglia to Venice in April.

Joanne, The trip from Corniglia to Venice will take about 6 hours, with several changes. The easiest route (and the one I'd probably use) is a departure from Corniglia at 10:27, arriving Venezia S.L. at 16:40 (time 6H:13M, 2 changes at Monterosso and Milano Centrale, reservations compulsory for some legs, current prices starting from €40). You can find information on your rail trips by using the Trenitalia website. Schedules for April 2013 won't be posted yet, but you'll be able to get a good idea by looking at details on trips in the next week or so, on the same day of the week that you'll be travelling. First, you either take the mini-bus down to the station or walk down about 425 stairs (which we have done) to get your train. Then, it's close to 6 hours from Corniglia to Venice. There is one run departing Corniglia at 7:19 to Venice that takes 5hrs19min.
