How can I get from Chamonix, FR by train to Colmar, FR? The guidebook says 6 hours via Switzerland with 3-4 changes but I don't know what to look for. Any help?

According to the timetables on the German Rail site, your first leg will be on a bus from Chamonix-Mont-Blanc to Le Chatelard-Frontiere and then trains the rest of the way. You will make connections in Switzerland.
