Confused about where to book for train connection Bruge to Amsterdam. Is the train line between Bruge and Antwerp always available or is it closed at times for repairs? Also are the Fyra trains running now or are they still out of commission? What in your opinion would be the best way to go? Thanks in advance for everyone's help.
No word on when, if ever, Fyra will return to service.
Best method is to take the regular inter-city train to Antwerp and transfer to the Thalys high-speed to Amsterdam. This site will get you tickets for the entire journey: http://www.nshispeed.nl/en Best to book ASAP (90 days allowed) as Thalys uses airline style pricing so the sooner you book the cheaper it will be. All rail lines, in every country get put out of service for maintenance reasons now and then. It's infrequent and often one the weekends, it's nothing to stress out about.
When looking at tickets from Antwerp central to Amsterdam central why are most of the connections showing Fyra trains? Is there an intercity train that is taking its place while the Fyra is out of commission or can you purchase only the Thalys train tickets?
