Train Assisi to Venice

Hi-- I'm spending 6 days in Florence in May, going to Assisi for 2 days June 1-3, then going to Venice on the 3rd to be with friends. Any advice on tickets, best way to go, etc etc? Thanks~
Any other advice on Assisi is greatly welcomed-- I've never been!
