Thanks to everyone who offered some great advice. My husband felt that with only 2 days to make the side trip it would be too rushed. Hopefully we'll get over to Europe again. Rosemary

Rosemary if you only have two days in Paris don't even think of leaving, but if you are thinking Brugges is too hard to do as a two day visit from Paris you would be wrong, I have done it as a bus tour daytrip. Its only three hours or so from Paris. I personally thought Brugges was a bit like Disneyland, but some people love it, but just saying its pretty easy to do as a two day trip if you really wanted to.. and assuming you have at least 4-5 days to enjoy getting a small taste of Paris !
