can you validate your eurail pass in spain prior to the day of your first date of travel or do you wait until that day..and is there an office you go to or just theman by the train

Per the Eurail website, "Once you have arrived in Europe, you can activate your pass at the ticket window of most large train stations". If it's a pass valid for a certain time span, e.g., 2 months, that time span will start the day the pass is activated.
