before dicideing to a buy a 3 day pass for Spanish rail or buy individual tickets, what is a tourist ticket and what is a first passenger ticket? The prices are quite a difference in price.

First and second class tickets. Personally, don't believe that a first class tickets is worth the difference. Most Americans have been trained by our airlines to except a lot of misery in second class (coach) seats but second class seats on European trains are similar to business class seats in airlines. Save the money BUT be sure that the pass is worth it.
